The design of the Philippines peace peso has been inspired by The Japanese Government peso notes, issued in the Philippines in World War II.
The Rizal monument illustration was hand-drawn by Brisbane-based designer, Gregory Hale. He used original Japanese Government notes, often referred to as Japanese Invasion Money, as his reference to faithfully recreate the illustration.
The Rizal monument was featured on Japanese Invasion Money issued for the Philippines in World War II. José Rizal is honoured as a national hero who represented liberty and peace. He was ultimately executed by firing squad and is now entombed in the monument
This is a must for collectors of Japanese Invasion Money from World War II.
Each token is supplied in a coin capsule along with a descriptive card and envelope.
